Living in the Moment

“A moment is a measurement of Consciousness, NOT a measurement of time.” – James Blacker

A second is a measurement of time, and a tenth of a second is a measurement of time, but a moment is a phenomenon of Consciousness, not time. If you doubt this then try to time a moment on a stop watch! It’s not a passage of time; it’s a thought, a notion. It’s Consciousness.

If you try to ‘live in the moment’ by addressing the phenomenon of time, it’s not going to work. Living in the moment is achieved by a state of Consciousness.

And as with all of our other characteristics of Love Consciousness, it’s not – and can’t be – achieved by forcing a positive thought. It is a natural default state which exists automatically if there is an absence of self-judgement.

It is, of course, impossible not to live in the present moment in the literal sense. So again we see that this notion of living in the moment has clearly got nothing to do with time. It is about what we are doing with our Consciousness.
