Illuminating The Tyrant That is The Mind

At the walking group I attend, some people observe those who stretch their legs before starting, and comment that “I feel I’d like to stretch, but I’d feel embarrassed”, or “I feel the need to stretch, but it looks a bit pretentious.” Bang! Just like that, self-judgement has compromised the health of billions of people; I’d say everyone in society, to some degree.

There are many such cultural views that affect us all collectively. Another is the saying, “A gentleman may walk but never run.” What absolute nonsense.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is no intelligent way to run a society. We all do it, but can we stop now please? Can we stop the stupidity of self-judgement at the expense of our health and happiness? Isn’t it time to be smart enough and wise enough to honour the body … and to recognise that as the way of health?

Anywhere you have self-judgements that wouldn’t allow you to honour your body, would you like to let that go?

And would you like to ask your body if it would like to let that go?
